Ferry House today

The collection of historic buildings that comprise Ferry House today trace its history. The main double storey Georgian wing was once the dining room and pub below with the owners quarters above. The Victorian verandahs and balcony were added later.

The present dining room and Lagoon Cottage were the Brighton Hotel guest accommodation. The kitchen and staff complex are 1920’s colonial wood and iron style. Ferry Cottage is a remnant portion of the shop and timber store, extended during the second world war by wealthy shipowner Skipper Wenborne as he waited for the return of his wife Grace who was interned in France by the Nazis. Rose Cottage has been converted and extended from the original servants quarters to a quaint garden cottage.

Ferry House literally has the lagoon at the edge of the garden. It is unique in that its property boundary runs right into the water. 2 private jetties give immediate watersport access. Boating, fishing, sailing, water skiing are all on your doorstep.
